Jackson received $2,612,443 in sales tax diversions in August 2026, up 9.5% from $2,385,899 in August 2025. The payment ranks 10th among the last 24 months on file. The highest was April 2026 at $2,826,377, and the lowest was February 2025 at $2,338,089.

Ridgeland led the suburbs with $1,611,884, up 23.7% from $1,303,322 a year earlier. Byram followed at $352,610, up 20.9% from $291,616. Madison rose 11.4% to $975,622, and Flowood gained 9.8% to $1,393,313.

Brandon rose 7.1% to $769,564. Clinton was up 5.4% to $512,950. Richland was nearly flat at $800,653, up 0.1%. Raymond rose 1.0% to $21,710, and Florence edged up 0.5% to $95,328.

Pearl posted the steepest decline among the larger cities, falling 8.6% to $1,166,022 from $1,275,784. Terry dropped 8.2% to $25,250. Edwards fell 18.8% to $4,245. Canton slipped 2.1% to $337,463, Bolton declined 2.9% to $20,912, and Pelahatchie was essentially unchanged at $45,986.

Across the metro area, cities reporting both months took in $10,745,954, up 7.8% from $9,968,198 a year earlier.

Fiscal-year-to-date, Jackson has received $5,328,637, up 6.0% from $5,027,894 at the same point last year. Ridgeland and Byram each lead the suburbs at 13.7% growth. Flowood is up 8.4%, Madison 6.3%, Richland 3.5%, Clinton 2.9%, and Brandon 0.3%.

Pearl's fiscal-year-to-date total is down 10.5% to $2,432,484. Pelahatchie is down 8.3%, Bolton 4.9%, Terry 4.1%, Canton 3.7%, Raymond 1.6%, Edwards 0.9%, and Florence 0.1%.
